Puppies and So Much More
after all, they are sweet little babies!

Preparing to bring a puppy into your home
A puppy is similar to a baby - it becomes a part of your family. This is a lifetime commitment (for the life of the dog) and it is one that should not be taken lightly.
Once your application is accepted and you are put on the puppy candidates list, the best way to be prepared to own an Airedale is to already have thought through your commitment and considered the details.

Here are some questions to ask yourself and important things to think about before making such a big, permanent commitment.

First, we 'd like to pause and take a moment to point out the over-the-top cuteness factor that little Miss Dixie rocked in her puppy years................(sigh) they grow up so quickly!!!
Environment matters
Do you have a large, fenced in yard or nearby dog park where your Airedale will be able to run and explore ?

Do you have electrical cords, small toys, or other items within reach that may be hazardous to a curious puppy?

Is your home an environment where a puppy will feel safe and have quiet time to rest?

Are your work hours compatible with a dogs need to be with their pack and moving around all day?

Are you willing and able to ensure your Airedale will get enough exercise ? (We currently walk/run our girl 5 miles most days and then have multiple playtimes throughout the day.)

Your Puppy is
an investment in love
and so much more
Do you have finances available for veterinary visits? For kennel boarding fees?

Will your budget allow you to provide treats, toys, and high-quality food for your Airedale?

When you travel together, will you be able to provide safe traveling accommodations for your dog?

If you need assistance with training your dog, will you be able to fund it?
